As promised, we are now getting back to you with further details regarding other DHS Class of 1977 Reunion plans. Originally, with the mailed invitations, we had announced a Saturday night after-party, but unfortunately quickly had to retract that, due to complications. We have now arranged for a supplemental party Friday night, August 10, 2007, preceding the “Gathering at the Grove”. This will offer an alternative for some Classmates, who won't be able to make main event at Capellaro's Grove. It will also provide an opportunity for others to double their fun by attending both! There will be no official events Saturday night. Each of us will be left to our own devices to choose if and how we may continue to make the most of this occasion.

The “Luau On The Lake" will be held at the The Sokol Lodge facilities, perfectly perched on the shores of Candlewood Lake, at 202 Candlewood Lake Road, in Brookfield, just south of Down the Hatch. The party will go from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. The cost will be $20 per person. That will include food and beverages. Dress is casual, Hawaiian/Tropical garb is optional! FYI, Things are coming together… albeit a bit more slowly than hoped for. As of the last committee meeting (Tuesday, 7/24), we had confirmation from 61 of our fellow classmates (10%), plus their invited guests. In addition, we have verbal commitments from another 29 (5%) from our class. We had hoped for better than that, but it’s not too bad … especially considering all the great people who have already committed. However, this still leaves so much more potential untapped. If we have not yet heard from you, why don’t you contact one of the committee today? We want to know of your plans. If you have sent in your check already - thank you. But even if you can’t come, it would be great to here from you! You might still help us to track-down some of our more elusive former cohorts, and it’s not too late to send in something telling us about yourself. Or, if you prefer, just a brief message that you’re not interested or simply cannot make. If you have already sent in your regret, thanks for the reply.

We hope your summer is going great so far and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible. We must provide a “final head-count” for the caterer by 8/3 (next week!). As always, if you have any questions please contact one of us.

40th Reunion for DHS Class of 1966
Finally, plans for our 40th reunion are underway! Who can believe it’s been that long? Think of all that time and yet it seems like just yesterday that some of us were playing softball in Rogers Park or swimming in Candlewood Lake at 3AM after graduation.

We’ve missed our 30th and 35th reunions due to our busy schedules and the tragic losses of some of our committee members – Jackie Carboni Neves, Andrea Zank Scalera and Felicia Zacharczyk which took the wind out of our sails. But now it’s time to move ahead and start planning for the 40th.

The reunion will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2006 from 5PM to 12PM at Capellaro’s Grove in their Three Oaks Banquet Facility, 42 Vail Road in Bethel, Ct. so save the date.

The hardest part of planning a reunion is finding everyone. If you all help with that the committee will be ahead of the game.
