Activity WHS '98 Reunion Birthday Bash
Location We are meeting on Friday, 23 July at Area 151 Nightclub in St Robert. $20 gets a wristband to get through the door and all you can drink well drinks and draft beers. We will have a section of the club all to ourselves until 10 pm. Saturday 24 July, we will be meeting at the new WHS for a tour at 845am. After the tour, we will all be meeting at Waynesville park for a family day! Bring your family and a picnic lunch to meet all the new members of the WHS family! We will meet out there at around noon and stay until whenever! Hope to see you there!!

Additional details Sorry for the lateness in getting some information to you about a 20 year reunion. Please mark the following dates on your calendar...Oct. 10-12, 2008...Homecoming @ WHS. It will be a relatively simple weekend. The game is Friday evening, which will incorporate the meet/greet; Saturday will be a picnic in the park and that evening, dinner. (Depending on the number of people that will be attending will determine the exact dinner location.). If anyone has any other suggestions for other possible weekend activities, would like to help, or to RSVP, please let me know.

Also, I wanted to take this time to pass along some information that I received about the Derringer Cade Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship started in 1991 shortly after we lost Derringer during a football game. I thought that it would only be fitting that as his fellow classmates, we could come together and each donate $20..recognizing our 20 year reunion...or what ever you can to this scholarship to keep it alive for deserving seniors.

Additional details All right peeps! We met yesterday to discuss some options and now we are asking for your feedback...please understand that we are asking for your opinions, but if we don't hear back from you, then we will just have to start making decisions so we can keep the planning going. No big deal if you don't have an opinion, I know some people just want to be told where and when to go...and they'll just show up.

We decided to plan a weekend event, since a lot of people will be traveling from other states and/or other countries. Friday night, if you choose to, we will go out to a local bar. This will just be a time to catch up with people and have a fun. If you want to come, come, if not...no big deal, that's cool...it won't hurt anyone's feelings :) (Friday evening will not be funded by the reunion funds.) Saturday we are going to see if we can rent out the Shriner's Club in Laquay, they have a pool and a room there, we will have family time up until sometime that night, then have "adult" time...where we plan to have a formal dinner. I haven't checked yet, but we believe they will have a cash bar. And if not, we'll make sure that a bar is there somehow. Sunday, we plan on just having a simple BBQ in the park, with a possibility of people bringing Pot Luck, if you can. More detailed plans to come when we know them.

We discussed $50 a person ($100 a couple) would be a good entry fee into the reunion, and no one has seemed to disagree with this figure, so, that's what it's gonna be, we have set the deadline of when this money is due for March 1st. This will cover the cost of the rental for the building, the dinner, etc. on Saturday and also whatever expenses we use for the BBQ on Sunday. Jessie Woodring is working on seeing if we can set up a local account, where people can just have it transfered from their account into the class account, then somehow them sending you a receipt in return. This is to ensure all of you, that no one is just going to run off with your money. When we have the details set up for that, we'll let you know.

Dates...these are weekends starting on Friday, of course all in 2007. Please respond and let us know what weekends would be best for you to attend. We will tally up the responses and pick the best weekend to accomodate the most people. We are asking you to let us know by the end of August which works out best for you.

Once we set dates, its important for those of you needing hotel accomodations to book them asap. Every Thursday, there are graduations on post, and rooms get filled up pretty quickly. I have phone numbers for all of the hotels here and we'll see about getting rates for bulk bookings.

Jessie is going to put together a slideshow of pictures, but she needs your help. She's asking for at least one current picture and then any and all pictures you may have from the four years we were in high school...heck, if you have grade school pics too, those could be fun to see also. You can just send them to the email account we have set up for our class at
97whsreunion@gmail.com . If you need to discuss a different way to get those pictures to her, just email her through the same email address.

I am/have been working on getting our Graduation and Senior Video transfered to DVD. Yes, they exist, in fact, if you don't remember, I was given the project of making the Senior Video, and no one has seen it yet because it wasn't finished until the week after we graduated...Sorry :( We plan on showing it at some point on Saturday, along with Jessie's slideshow. My question is how many people are interested in having a copy of it? The cost of making copies shouldn't be more than $5-$10, since I can get the supplies at SAM'S Club pretty cheap. I don't plan on making any money by selling the copies, but I want to make them as professional looking as I can.

Does anyone DJ or know someone that DJ's?

Those are all of the notes I have from the meeting. One thing everyone can help with is getting contact information for people to us. We are having trouble finding everyone, especially the females that have gotten married and changed their names.
