Activity All School Jones, State Center Alumni Banquet
Location We are having a dance on the 7th of Aug. at the community center here in Jones. 7 p.m till 10 p.m The banquet will be at the new temporary cafe. located behind the football field. This will be held from 5 p.m. social hour till 7 p.m and we will start eating at 7 p.m. program and business meeting will be short so there will be plenty time to visit. Additional details The dance will be paid for by donations at the door. Hopefully each class can bring snacks and soft drinks. No smoking or hard drinks are allowed in the building. Letters were sent out this past two weeks. If you want more information let me know.

I would like to have as many as possible help our committee to plan this event. Hopefully we could call a meeting the first part of Jan. 2009. I would like to have at least one person to represent their class to help finalize the program . I have had some suggestions for it to be fun and not boring. I hope maybe we could have a prize for the best decorated table and of course the person who has come the furtherest. We are open to any new fun activites that would be short. Like funny stories about each other. We could maybe print up such things in a sheet to be passed around the group and some one read at least one funny. Some of you have gone to other reunions and hopefully you can share with us what you have observed at them.
Hurrah! we will have grown up seats to set on and nice round tables to eat on. The temporary cafteria holds at least 300 people and I would sure like to fill the place to the brim. Mr Steele has asked us to help sponsor some way of getting the money for the class pictures that were hanging in the hall of the old building. They can get copies of the classes as far back as 1976 but the rest of them will have to be located with our annuals. We have been given a approxmiate price of $150 to have these pictures framed and restored. More about this later when we all can get together after the 1st of the year. I want to encourage you younger graduates to come and be a viable part in planning this event.
I thought I might let the ones who contributed to the fund for the temporary cafteria know that the total amount that was given from some of the alums was approzmately $5,000.00 The class of 57 donated $100.00 and have challanged any of the other classes to match them or do better. This was some money they had left over from their 50th reunion last year.
I will let you know where and when we will meet after the first of the year.
