Hello Classmates of 1970!!

It's hard to believe that it has been 40 years since we graduated and all went our separate ways! So, now it's time to round everyone up from far & near and get together again for our 40-year reunion!!

We have set a tentative date for the weekend of August 6-8, from the majority of people that have RSVP'd. I'm sure it won't work out for everybody, but we need to set a date in order to firm up the plans for the weekend!

Chris (Holbrook) Ottenbreit sent me the list of email addresses from our last reunion, so hopefully most of you will receive this email. Please forward any other email addresses from other classmates not listed in this email to me so I can get the word out to them too.

I have had 31 classmates, including myself...that have RSVP'd and will be bringing guests, so we're off to a great start! Plans for the weekend include a camp-out (or cabin/motel) in the Conconully area and the theme for our reunion is "Party til the cows come home"!
I am compiling a list of places to stay and hoping to get a group reservation rate at Shady Pines Resort.

Plans so far include:

Friday night: "Classmate Roundup" ~ get-together with old friends and get re-acquainted while circling the wagons at the designated campsite!

Saturday:

"Class Cattle Drive" ~ tour of the new high school in the morning (Barb McIntosh Orr, Organizer)

"R & R" at the Conconully State Park ~ volleyball, horseshoes...BYOP (bring your own picnic lunch)

"Mug Shot" ~ Class photo in the park at 6:00 pm

"Longhorn BBQ Supper" ~ at 7:00 pm at the Conconully Community Center (catered) and slide show down "Memory Lane"

"Country Hoe-Down" ~ Music & Karaoke for dancin', singing or just listening begins about
9:00 pm

Sunday: "Flapjack Breakfast" ~ in the Conconully State Park 9:00 am - 11:00 am

"Goodbyes"....til we meet again:)

I am setting up a website to consolidate all information from several websites that I'm using to find everyone. This will be much easier and available to all classmates to add pictures, blogs, suggestions, etc... I should have it ready by February 1st and will send out another email to all of you at the time!! So, get your pictures scanned & downloaded now so you can add them, OK???

The cost for the reunion weekend will be determined after working out the details, but hopefully it will be affordable for everyone to come.

Location So far the plan is as follows: Friday, 7-23 - PUB Saturday, 7-24 - potluck lunch in city park, tour of remodeled high school, and then catered dinner at the Elks (menu and times to follow)

Location The 14th will either be at the Elks (depending on how many people do sign up), if not very many people sign up it will be at one of the committee person's homes.
