Additional details The 2008 Ravenswood High School Alumni Reunion/Dinner Committee has announced activities for the 110th all class reunion on May 23rd and May 24th, 2008. The festivities will start at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 23rd, at the NYA Hall with the annual Porter Alumni Band Performance, initiated in 1983. An evening of dancing to the tunes of the 50%uFFFDs to the present will follow the performance. This evening of special surprise entertainment, band show videos, music, fellowship, food and fun will go from 7 p.m. to midnight. Donations will be used to enhance the Jim Porter Scholarship Fund that has awarded $250 annually to a graduating band member. This event is open to ALL graduates and guests. More information relating to the Alumni Band evening may be obtained from Ms. Becky Fox %uFFFD59 at 304.273.9519. Dress for the evening is casual.

Additional details Unique to this year%uFFFDs dinner will be guided tours of the RvHS building from 4 %uFFFD 5:45 p.m. Beverages and snacks for those registering will be available and served prior to the dinner by Jeanette Morgan %uFFFD47 and June Barber Corbin %uFFFD47. Tickets for the dinner are $15 per person, with dinner being catered by The Cozy Cupboard of Ravenswood.

Honor classes for the 110th reunion are all those classes from 28 to 2008, with special honors to the 50 year Class of 1958. The newest alumni, the Class of 2008, will be recognized and initiated into the alumni association. Featured speaker for the evening will be Ravenswood native Mrs. Faye Safreed Milhoan. She is a highly regarded and recognized educator with 42 years of service and a member of the Class of 1958. Mrs. Milhoan will take those in attendance upon a trip down memory lane.

Additional details An additional charge of $10/person for a wine tasting Saturday afternoon in Ripley for a total of $40 if you wish to go to that. Reservations to include wine tasting must be received by the committee by April 15th.

Also, remember the local hotels in Ripley include: McCoy's Best Western, Holiday Inn Express, and Super 8. Mineral Wells, WV has many other nice facilities including Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express(brand new), Microtel Inn, adn a couple of others. Email me for numbers if you need to do so.

Also, for those flying in from around the globe, Parkersburg (Mid Ohio Valley Airport) now offers daily service to Pittsburgh and has car rental onsite. I recommend trying to connect through Pittsburgh. I travel for work and coming in from Charlotte or Dulles generally results in a delay in those cities for me. I've never had much problem in Pittsburgh. (of course, can't guarantee that, but.......)

Location OUR REUNION SPECIFICS Green Hills Country Club in Silverton 7:30 p.m. Meet & Greet 8 p.m. Class Picture Dancing and karaoke. Cost of picture, includes mailing $12 Cash Bar. NO dress code. A photographer will be on hand to take individual or small group pictures afterward. Family picnic at the Riverfront Park in Ravenswood on May 25th from 2-4 p.m. Covered dish. We will provide plates, utensils, hotdogs/buns and condiments. It will be at the shelter closest to the train trestle. Jupiter Jump will be available for children (young and old) to have fun in. $30 single-$50 dollars per couple for Green Hills. Picnic is free, just bring a covered dish. Additional activities: Alumni Banquet at Ravenswood High School will be held from 5-7 p.m. This includes any and all alumni from Ravenswood. Proceeds go to scholarships and the band.
